Our Story

Shelfmark was built from an obsession with customer problems. Pat quit his software consulting job in 2022 with no idea of what type of company or product to build.

He started Shelfmark with a simple thesis: to connect the emerging technology at Carnegie Mellon University with the ‘anonymous billion dollar businesses’ that are the lifeblood of economies in Western Pennsylvania and regions like it. Too often, advanced technologies go straight to the coasts. But who solves problems for the businesses that make all of the products that we interact with in our every day lives, but never think twice about?
